Originally from Northern Ireland, Dr. Rachel Steele graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2003 before relocating to South Florida in 2004. After years in small animal general practice, she followed her passion for surgery and dentistry, dedicating her practice exclusively to these disciplines. Today, she combines advanced surgical expertise with a compassionate, client-centered approach to help pets live healthier, more comfortable lives.
Dr. Rachel understands that the decision to pursue surgery can be overwhelming for families. She believes that clear communication, honesty, and compassion are just as important as surgical skill, and she is committed to ensuring every client feels informed, supported, and confident throughout their pet's treatment and recovery.
Driven by the belief that high-quality surgical care should be both exceptional and accessible, Dr. Rachel founded Pet Surgery Center of Fort Lauderdale to provide veterinary surgery at a price that allows more families to get the care their pets need. Her mission is to give the community another option for surgical care without ever compromising on quality, safety, or patient comfort.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, a Fort Lauderdale firefighter, her three two-legged children, their beloved rescue dog, and the cat who found his forever home with their family after arriving at Pet Surgery Center alone in an Uber, in need of surgery.
